This is the beginning of my BLOG, for DAVID H YOUNG, 55 years young, formerly of Tucker GA from 1998 to April, 2007. Now residing in Henrico NC (we only have a very small post office building & that is it!!) but ’some country civilization is in the small town of Littleton, NC which is just a hop, skip & jump down the road. Yep, people kinda talk ‘funny’ here with their country twang, but they are the damn nicest people you ever could meet, for the most part. They all say HI when they see ya or we wave as we pass one another on the roads. Kinda like my childhood in the 50’s and early 60’s, cuz I remember my daddy waving at strangers on the road in the Decatur GA streets.
I am living in my sister’s “lake home” on Lake Gaston at the end of a cove, where wildlife abounds. Just last night, a buck (male deer) was walking around making this God awful sound I ain’t never heard in the cities where I lived. I suppose he was do his “mating call” and you could here him from a long distance but he came near this property around 11pm just screaming his lungs out! I don’t know if he found him a girlfriend for the night. Guess we’ll know come spring if we see some FAWN walking around behind their mom’s.
I had to go on ‘medical leave’ from my job of 26 years at Smith Barney/Citigroup and what would you know but the SOB’s fired me come August 2006, exactly 6 months after my short term medical leave begin. My boss didn’t care for my ‘out spoken ways’ nod did he care for my lifestyle, I don’t think. Shud have sued I suppose but in GA, them there companies have the right to hire and fire “at will”. But the Lord works in strange ways, and who knows what will eventually come out of this major CHANGE in my life—moving from the BIG CITY of Atlanta to the country. I don’t miss all them there people and all those cars in Atlanta atcha all. Gotten too too big for this boy!
This is just the first day of my blog, as I learn more & more about this & add more and give you more details about me. I hope to add recipes, favorite websites, the best buys on the Internet, my gardening & greenhouse tips, pictures and everyday updates on my life.
I took a long nap this evening cuz there ain’t nuttin on TV with the writer’s strike, but I need to go to bed now. Good night.
